Arteta’s word on the possibility of loaning Saliba out in January resurfaced again.
“I don’t know. We certainly tried in the last few days of the transfer window to find the right club but we could not make it and we will review the situation in the next few weeks, sit down with him as well and see what is the best thing to do.”

@Asera: What was the point in buying him?
@Victor: I don’t what’s wrong with Arteta and d management about this guy’s issue.
@Dauoda: What is wrong with Arteta he still plays Mustafi in Europa games when Saliba is around.
@Nkem: Emery bought Saliba. Don’t expect Arteta to integrate him into the team just like that.
@Gimeno: Guys relax the player is 19years old. We know he played well in France but it’s the arsenal management that sees him on the training pitch every day so they know more than us regardless. For all, we know a loan might further his development.
@Musa: He’s more than good enough to start for arsenal, the problem might lie in his inexperience and Arteta being unwilling to trust a 19 yo over the likes of Luiz and holding.
@Muller: (replied Gimeno) Loan doesn’t work always as you think to see many players wasted with the loan. The best thing I agree is to play him in small premier league matches and fa Cup and carabao cup.
@Gimeno: (replied Muller) It doesn’t matter that loan moves don’t always work. You don’t gamble in the premier league all for the sake of the youth development of one player so it’s not like he can start frequently or even semi-frequently for that matter. And playing matches once a month or less doesn’t compare to being a regular starter at another team. A loan move isn’t a be-all and fixes all that’s true but it is always better than staying in the club if you don’t get occasional starts.
