Andrea Pirlo is not wasting time to send a signal of revamping the Juventus team starting with Blaise Matuidi and Gonzalo Huguain.
Blaise Matuidi is up for transfer and Inter Miami is showing interest in the French international. The arrival of a young coach is a pointer to the intentions of the club to make the team an array of fresh and young legs.
Although, Matuidi has one year left to play for Juventus but we have seen clubs send players on loan and then allow the contract expire and then the player goes on a permanent transfer.
However, the French international will reportedly join David Beckham’s Inter Miami in the United States.
According to reports in France, the midfielder will take his medical in Paris today. The MLS transfer window opens on Wednesday. Inter Miami’s chief operating officer Paul McDonough has said he hoped to sign one or two “significant” players before they resume their season on August 22 at home against Orlando City.
Matuidi, 33, joined Juventus in 2017 on a three-year contract which expired on 30th June 2020. Prior to the resumption of football from the lockdown, Juventus gave him a year extension on his contract.
He played for Paris saint German for six years with scoring 23 goals in 203 appearances. He is an admirer of the former PSG attacker Jay Jay Okocha.
Juventus sacked head coach Maurizio Sarri due to series of dismal performances in their domestic cup competitions and the loss to Lyon in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16. The Turin side replaced him with Pirlo who is believed to understand the Juventus mentality.
So, along with Matuidi, there are probable exit for Sami Khedira and Gonzalo Higuain, and even Brazilian winger Douglas Costa.
The Inter Miami FC side owned by David Beckham are gearing towards playing their first-ever match at their new stadium, the Inter Miami CF Stadium in Fort Lauderdale which was opened July 18.
If the deal goes through, Blaise Matuidi will become the second European player on the Inter Miami roster, after Scottish midfielder Lewis Morgan.
Juventus, though, will be looking for a replacement for the French midfielder, who made 35 appearances in Serie A this season but didn’t score a goal.
With the MLS season resuming on August 22, Inter Miami will hugely benefit from having the experience of Blaise Matuidi in their squad.
