Ben Chilwell could become a Chelsea player in few days’ time as reports have it that he has successfully completed his medicals. Chilwell is a quality player at Leicester City but he could not play the last five matches of the Premier League due to knee injury.
The English footballer is unarguably one of the high targets for Lampard’s team. Kai Havertz being another player the Blues are determined to get, yet the deal has not been successful as result of the impact on financial stability of football clubs. A new bid for the German player is being arranged.

Chilwell signed a long-term contract of five seasons in 2016 and at the age of 19 in the same year, he started playing for Leicester. The foxes later gave him an extension on his contract till 2024 based on performance but this may be swayed by Chelsea’s desperation for a new left-back.
There are reports that Leicester are in talks with Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico as a replacement for Ben Chilwell when he leaves for Stamford Bridge. Ajax could sell Nicolas for £45 million if personal agreements and other add-ons are acceptable by the player’s agent.
Ben wants to play in the Champions League which is the reason why he is keen for a move to Chelsea. Medical reports according to the account on his injury connotes that he has three weeks to rest before he can return to full fitness.
With Premier Leagues matches set to commence 11th September 2020, the defender may not be fit during the preseason matches and probably will not start the first two matches when he moves to Chelsea.
