A less convincing performance by the blues at Stamford bridge against the already relegated Norwich City side with four points ahead of a well in-form Leicester and Manchester United may not be enough.
This has pushed Chelsea to keep boosting thier interest in German player Kai Havertz. Kai Havertz plays for Bayern Leverkusen at the moment with Chelsea closing-in to lure the 21year old attacker to London .
The young star is bound to cost a whooping transfer fee ranging from €70 – €90 million as Chelsea considers the exit of three of their players to fund the deal.
Kai Havertz is optimistic to join his German national Timo Werner and Ziyech who was seen at Stamford bridge as the blues won Norwich City to secure their place in champions league.
Chelsea is not the only club eyeing the young star as Real Madrid is also keen on getting the Lekerkusen’s attacker to Bernabeu according to football.London.
Kai would be of great value and having scored 15 goals in all competitions for Leverkusen adds an extra boost to Frank Lampard’s hopes. He verbally expresses that the attacker is one of his top targets in forthcoming window transfer.
Chelsea would be able to win Havertz’s signature if they paid north of £90million says Bayer Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz.
Bosz told Algemeen Dagblad back in March: “He can’t be held on to next summer. That will be a transfer of €100million (£90million). What am I saying? More than €100million (£90million)!”
Havertz told Sky Germany earlier this year: “Of course, there’s a lot of speculation at the moment. That’s normal. Right now, Leverkusen are my main focus and I’m concentrating on them. At the end of the season, we’ll find a solution.
“Personally, I always want to play in the Champions League. That’s been my goal since my first year here and in general that’s a goal for every Bundesliga player. Regardless, I’m grateful to Leverkusen so I don’t want to mess anything up.”
