Chelsea is getting set to take on Newcastle United in a lunchtime kickoff in the Premier League on Saturday. The Blues are currently 5th on the log but will move into the top four with a win, potentially going as high as 1st position if other results go their way.
Yesterday the club released pictures of the players training. The likes of Hakim Ziyech, Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi, N’golo Kante, and others could be seen training and enjoying themselves ahead of the game. But one player who was noticeably absent was Timo Werner.
The striker wasn’t seen in any of the training pics, and Frank Lampard had earlier said in his pre-match conference that some players were yet to return to training as their coronavirus tests were pending. Fans naturally assumed Werner was one of them and feared he may not be able to make the game.
Well, fans can now relax, as Timo Werner has returned to training! The star striker could be seen keeping sharp in training with his teammates in the latest batch of images released by the club on their social media. Here are some of the pics for hour viewing pleasure:
Also, Pulisic is training on the road to recovery:
So fans can now chill. Werner is available, and should be expected to start tomorrow.
