All latest Chelsea team news and injury ahead of the Blues’ huge final league game with Aston Villa at Villa Park in the race for a top-four finish.
A win for Chelsea against Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday afternoon will seal their top-four finish and a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League competition.
The Blues 2-1 win over Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening saw them move a step closer to wrapping up a top-four spot, with a second half goals from Antonio Rudiger and Jorginho.
The victory over the Foxes lifted them up into third position, meaning they’re one point ahead of Leicester in the league table at the moment. Liverpool, on the following evening overtake Leicester to retain the fourth spot on goal difference after a 3-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor.
With just one point between the three teams and a fight for top-four spot, Chelsea will enter tomorrow’s final league game with the goal of securing all three points and third place will be secured.
However, any slight mistake against Dean Smith’s side could see them drop out of the top-four if Liverpool and Leicester win their games respectively.
With so much pressure on Chelsea, Tuchel will be hoping to name his strongest possible XI available, even though he would have preferred to have rotated his team ahead of next Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final against League winner Manchester City.

The midfielder has been declared uncertain, with Tuchel unable to provide a definitive answer as to whether he will be involved at Villa Park or not.
“With NG [Kante] it’s going to be very close but there are some hopes he joins team training tomorrow,” Tuchel said on Friday.
“If not, he’ll join on Monday.”
Andreas Christensen: Having missed the last three games with a hamstring injury picked up in the 2-1 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium weeks ago, the centre-back is self-assured to make a return to the team tomorrow.
Now, though, the Danish international is poised to return, with Tuchel confirming on Friday in his pre-match press conference that he is back available for selection.
“Andreas Christensen will be in the squad. He did full training today and yesterday without any problems.
“So he will be back.” Tuchel explained
Kai Havertz: The German international also missed out on Tuesday evening due to hamstring injury. Although, havert has now improved in his recent form with the new tactics imposed by Tuchel.
Tuchel said: “Kai did a test today and will be tested in team training tomorrow.”
Speaking to the media on Friday afternoon, Tuchel had no other injury report, meaning he has plenty of options available to him.
Elsewhere, the likes of Marcos Alonso, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Hakim Ziyech and Olivier Giroud will be amongst those pushing for recalls.
