9th place Arsenal finished there second game after the Covid-19 break in a 2-1 loss to Brighton in an a visit to the coast-side club on Saturday.
Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta expresses disappointment, and admitted that the 2-1 loss was all there fault.
After a goalless first half, the Gunners were one goal ahead when Nicolas Pepe fired in a goal in the 23rd minute of the second half.
Brighton responded with an equalizer by Lewis Dunk on the 75 minutes mark.
Neal Maupay secured the win for the south coasters in the injury time, extending the loss stats for Arsenal.
In a post- match interview with Arteta he said;
“I think we did a lot of things today to win the game comfortably, but we haven’t competed like you have to compete in the Premier League.”
“We gave first goal away and we lost a few important duels afterwards, so I think it’s all our fault.”
When he was asked if Goalkeeper, Bernd Leno’s injury impacted the players poor performance, he objected.
“No, I don’t think that’s the case because a lot of things happened afterwards, we scored the goal and we had more than enough opportunities to put the game to bed so we can’t use it as an excuse,” he said.
