RED DEVILS: Manchester United have been handed a double defensive boost after two excellent displays of its stars in the international break.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been having problems with their backline so far this season managing just four clean sheets in 12 matches this season.
However, there was sign of improvement for the Red Devils last night as two of it’s seniour squad members showcased a fine display.
The first came from Scott McTominay who has been switched to the center back spot by Scotland. He starred in Scotland’s defense as they edged out Serbia on post-match penalties in EURO 2021 qualifier.
McTominay has adapted well to his new defensive responsibilities. Despite Scotland’s defense being sloppy in allowing Serbia’s equalizer there were positive signs that he might be ready for a deeper role at United.
In addition, Harry Maguire who captained England against Republic of Ireland put on a stand out perfomance. He netted England’s opener and helped them secure a clean sheet in their friendly victory over Republic of Ireland.
Maguire has endured a difficult start to the new season but appears to have dealt with it accordingly. He impressed against Everton and this is exactly what Solskjaer has been missing in his defense
