Jose Mourinho has been sacked as Tottenham Hotspur head coach.
Appointed to replace Mauricio Pochettino in November 2019, the experienced manager guided Tottenham hotSpurs to a Europa League place in his first season despite a lot of injuries to key players.
However, following a bright start to this campaign and after reaching the Carabao Cup final, results have been extremely poor since the turn of the year, notably the Europa League exit against Dinamo Zagreb after going to Croatia with a 2-0 lead from the first leg.
Getting back on track with a win at Aston Villa, Spurs have only picked up two points from a possible nine in their last three league games after drawing against Newcastle United and Everton either side of their defeat at home to Manchester United.
With Tottenham now five points away from the Champions League places with six league games remaining, Daniel Levy has now made the huge call to part with the man he appointed just under 18 months ago.
It now means Tottenham have to make a decision over who will be in charge of the team for Wednesday evening’s Premier League home game against Southampton and also Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Man City.
